Raphael first met Sara when she fall over him. He first thought it was Jibril. As Sara explained him who she is, he rembered that he had seen her on the earth with Setsuna and Mika. He then helped her escaping from Sevi and took her home. Raphael healed her lamed eyes. Raphael told her also about Setsuna, that he is dead because he searched for her in the Hades but that she wasn't there. Sara is shocked because of this and wants Raphael to bring Setsuna back to life. But Raphael says no, ony when she sleeps with him. Sara is of course disgusted but then she made a little plan. She wants to injure Raphael. So they went to the bedroom. On the way, Sara knocked a vase over und took a shard with her. When she lies in Raphael's arm she wants to hurt him, but of course it didn't work - you can't trick or hurt him THAT easily. Sara screamed at him, why he does this to the women, why he hates them so or if he is afraid of them. All this makes him remeber his past. Then Michael comes and all is crazy boom bang XD You know how he is xD; But Raphael also realizes that Sara is the reincarnation of Jibril, the guardian angel for the Messia, Setsuna. Sevi killed this way two birds with one stone - Jibril was against his cruel politics and so he made her to Alexiel's guardian angel. She was invisible to his men and also to the demons - so that the sword Nanatsusaya couldn't kill the angel. Normally this is a job for low-ranked angels, to look over the penal-progress, that it all goes correctly. Michael than gets a phone call - the men they send out on the earth are both, killed by an angel with three wings - just like the Messia. So Michael, Raphael and Sara went down to the earth, even when Rapahel warned Michael that it would be a decoy. And so it is - Uriel set a snare for Raphael. He knew Raphi would come with Mika. Uriel put a spell around them that thay can't break. He wants Raphael to revive Setsuna, just like Sara. She also begs him about that and he says ok. But he required a big price - a kiss from Sara.
The next meeting of the two is when Sevotharte tells Raphael to give Sara the drink that makes her voice go. Sara is very brave towards Sevi, she is not really frightend of him, thinking of Setsuna makes her strong. Well, Raphael talks to her and gives her the drunk. Here again, Sara says, that she is sure, that he is a nice person, he just can't expres his emotions, and that undernaeth it all he is a really shy and gentle man and that he should show this side more to the girls. When he left after that, Sara drinks it.Then she goes to the trial and is interrogated, but she can't answer. After Barbiel is saved, Raphael came back to Sara and rescued her by kissing and healing her. She shouted at him and hit him in the face, but he just said 'Very good. You always were a girl who knew to speak her mind, Sara-chan.'
When Sandalphon is in Sara's body and mind, he really wants to help her. But then Sandalphon killed Barbiel and Raphael finally realized: He doesn't love Sara. He loves Barbiel more than anything in heaven, earth and hell.
